Wether it's by the nature, the sun, yourself, or other artists, everybody somehow gets inspired.
So do I.
This blog is the first one in a series about inspiration, in particular about photographers. I may write also a few blogs about models, as a bonus at the end of row. But my initial idea is to write about photographers who inspire me, so that's what I am going to write about first.
With these series, I want to show my love and respect for these photographers. It's a dedication to them, an appreciation. It's to expose their work and share it with others. Perhaps you will get inspired as well?
Damon Baker.
Photographer, explorer of style and full time freak.Self-portrait by Damon Baker
BIO
Damon Baker is a fashion photographer from London who has incorporated his dark and mysterious personality into his works. Since Damon started experimenting in fashion photography (2008) he has gathered an online following for his uniquity and style.
Since starting shooting in 2008 Damon has shot for I-D, Style Magazine, Sheer Magazine, Ribbed and numerous times for Fiasco Magazine whom also did a 'Rising Star' interview on him in their first issue. Damon has also appeared in numerous magazines, e-zines and blogs for his unique sense of personal style, he is known to dress as if he was in his own photo shoot.
Damon's photographic style ranges from editorial to characteristic portraiture. He is inspired by personalities, shapes and movement. He takes pride in having hands-on creative direction and constructing his photoshoots from hair and makeup to styling.
You either love or hate his photography. There's no other way to put it I think. You may have already guessed it, but I love it. His edgy, sometimes futuristic, 'high fashion trash', but always stunning photography is very recognizable and never boring.
He recently got signed with Jed Root, the same agency as where for instance Scott Schuman (the Sartorialist) is signed with. Just saying.
This self-acclaimed freak never sleeps, is constantly photographing and is absolutely someone to keep an eye on.
Andrej Pejic happens to be a good friend of Damon Baker. Isn't that a great combination? Yes it is.
Enough Andrej. There way more models which Damon shot. Here's a (very) small selection.

The next one is from Domestic Distrubia, a shoot featured on fashiongonerogue.com and my personal favorite by Damon Baker.
There is way way more on Damon Baker's blog which you can either access through BlogSpot or his website. It's both the same. :)
Damon was so friendly to answer a few questions I send him for this blog. A few questions which I personally really wanted to ask him.
Why?
- Why Not !
How does your dieal day look like?
- I wake up, drink coffe and work, work work.
Since this whole post is about inspiration, where do you get yours from?
- I am inspired by my own mind, nothing in my mind is normal, I like to work it out and play with it.
How did you become so great in such short amount of time? How did you start?
- I wouldn't say I'm 'great', I would say I'm different and not afraid. I never started, I've always been me, you've just started to notice.
You've achieved so many great things alraedy, is there even more to wish for and would like to achieve?
- I've achieved nothing yet, I haven't fully begun my mission. Beware..
Where do you see yourself in a couple of years?
- Drinking coffee in a corner, somewhere, dressed head to toe black planning my next move to world domination.
Do you also photograph other things like landscapes and products besides fashion?
- My main interest is fashion.
Do you have any form of phtotography education or are you self-taught?
- I didn't study, I left after GCSE's. I prefer trial and error, you can only be taught so much, in my opinion.
Fur?
- Vintage Fur.
What else?
- You just wait and see. I'll make it exciting !

And to end this blog, another stunning shoot which I love, also featured on fashiongonerogue.com.
